BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Gulf South Conference named Elijah Ramsey GSC Player of the Week. This honor encompasses performances from February 9-15. Ramsey is the first Union Baseball Player of the Week since Patrick Music earned the honor on April 22, 2022.

Ramsey had an impressive conference opener appearance at Valdosta State. He batted .412 with seven hits, driving in seven runs and scoring five more to help Union to a 3-1 week. The junior also slugged .706 with two doubles and a home run and posted a .500 on-base percentage. He began the week with a three-RBI effort, hitting 1-for-2 in a 18-8 rout over Lane. In a three-games set at Valdosta State, Ramsey had two multi-hit and multi-RBI games, finishing with six hits, four RBI, four runs scored, a pair of doubles and a stolen base in 17 at bats to help the Bulldogs win its first GSC series of the season.

Previously recognized as the GSC Freshman of the Year, Ramsey continues to elevate his impact on the conference stage, adding Player of the Week honors to an already decorated career.

The Bulldogs return home this week for a midweek game against Lane (2/18) and their first home series of the season against Delta State (2/20-21). Admission is free of charge thanks to the generosity of FirstBank.
