Gray Campbell finished fifth at Tennessee River Rumble.
LENOIR CITY, Tenn. - The Union University men's golf team posted a 13th-place finish at the Tennessee River Rumble hosted by Lincoln Memorial University. The 3-round event was played at the Windriver Golf Club and featured 20 teams and 100 golfers.
Gray Campbell posted a first-round 6-under par to lead the tournament after 18 holes. He posted 2-over and 3-over scores in the next two rounds. He was one of just six golfers to finish below par for the tournament. His fifth-place finish earned the senior all-tournament honors. Lincoln Memorial's George Durkan (ranked #11) won the event with a 5-under part score.
Union finished 13th, at 38 over par (+6, +9, and +24). Union was in eighth place after the first round, 10th after two rounds, and dropped to 13th following the final round. Lincoln Memorial (ranked #4) won the event with a 6-over-par score.
Andrew Westmorland was second for Union in 57th place (+11),
Trace Robinson 72nd (+16),
Timothy Pinkston 83rd (+19), and
Kip Patterson 89th (+22).
Up next for Union will be the Music City Invitational hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University at the Hermitage Golf Club Gereral's Retreat in Old Hickory, Tennessee, March 31-April 1.
