NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Union University's
Tylandrius Parks was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's Men's Basketball Player of the Week, averaging 23.5 and 8.0 rebounds in two games for the Bulldogs. This is the second straight TSWA weekly award for Parks and the third for Union this season (Parks twice, Boe Njuidjol once).
The Pocahontas, Tenn., native hit 9-of-17 shots overall with a pair of 3-pointers and was 9-for-11 at the foul line, recording 29 points with eight boards at West Alabama. The senior guard followed that with 18 points, eight rebounds, and three assists at Alabama-Huntsville, making 5-of-10 from the field and 7-for-10 at the charity stripe.
Parks has scored 20-plus points seven times this year and averages 20.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists through 13 games this season.
