NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Union University's
Boe Nguidjol was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 20, 2022. This is the first TSWA weekly honor for Nguidjol and Union men's basketball this season.
Nguidjol, a 6-foot-8 senior forward, from Los Angeles, Calif., posted 18.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game including a double-double versus Delta State. He made 7-of-9 shots and 5-for-6 at the foul line for 19 points while adding six boards, three assists and two blocks in a five-point win over Mississippi College. The senior followed that with 18 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in a victory against Delta State, connecting on 8-of-10 from the field and 2-for-4 at the charity stripe.
Nguidjol is averaging 16.0 points and 9.8 boards through four games this season. Union is 3-1, having won three straight games. The Bulldogs have two home games this week over the Thanksgiving break. Union will host McKendree Tuesday at 6 p.m. and West Georgia Saturday at 4 p.m.
