Lavanda Ross played women’s basketball at Union from 2008-12 and was a key part of two NAIA National titles for the Lady Bulldogs.

In her four years at Union, Ross played in all four NAIA National Championship games, helping Union win titles in 2009 and 2010, while finishing runner-up in 2011 and 2012. She led Union to four TranSouth Regular Season Titles and three TranSouth Tournament Titles.

Ross earned numerous honors including three-time NAIA All-American, NAIA All-Tournament, NAIA National Player of the Year (2012), three-time TranSouth All-Conference, TranSouth All-Freshman Team, TranSouth Newcomer of the Year (2009), TranSouth Freshman of the Year (2009), and Tennessee Sports Writers Player of the Year (2012). 

Ross finished Union with 2,022 points, one of only eight players in Union history to score over 2000 career points. She she is one of only two players to reach 2000 career points, 700 career rebounds, and 400 career assists. She ranks fifth in Union history in games played. 

Currently, Ross is working in the inurance industry after having worked in the mental health industry after college. She loves raising her girls, Gabrielle and Paris, and making sure they know they are loved. 

Ross played high school basketball in Jackson, Tennessee at North Side High School.
